Kr Taylor Maid
Missy, a 1985, 14.3H flea bitten Arabian, came to me, Rebecca. This is my best friend and over the last 8 yrs, we have worked together in this mission about the people and the horses. But first Missy had to save me. She was only a dream to me since I lost my horse family back in 1978. I would dream of a white Arabian mare running wild and free with me upon her back. Then one day in 1996, I got a call from a good friend about this mare she had. I immediately drove out to see her and wanted her. My friend, Lynn, stated how I had not ridden her yet. I told her that I could handle it. This was just the beginning. Missy taught me how to saddle her, how to hang on, how to fly, how to let go of anger, and how to trust. Inturn She learned to walk (not run all of the time), to lead the trail, to let some one else lead the trail, how to be a mom, to bond to me, wake me up when I hurt, how to bring the herd in when it is feeding time and how to fuss at me when I am not feeding fast enough. But most of all, now that she is going blind she is learning that I am her eyes and to trust. Missy thanks for the beginning of a wonderful mission and friendship with many more years of being my horse and my best friend.
