Merry Christmas

What's going on here?
You drive around the towns to look at Christmas lights, and there are hardly any to be found - not even in the churches. Is it because of a lack of money, or is there another explanation? Is the fact that in some job environments Christians cannot say Merry Christmas without jeopardizing their jobs finally hitting home?
If Christians cannot say "Merry Christmas" at work, then perhaps it would be only fair that non-Christians not be allowed to take Christmas as a holiday.
There seems to be a stealth campaign going on to tear down Christianity in this country: a perverted sort of "equal opportunity" campaign to benefit non-Christians. A logical next step in that campaign would be to either eliminate or re-name the national holidays that fall on Christmas and New Year.
If such a campaign ever gets off the ground, fight it.
After all, the founding fathers of this country (predominantly Christian`) did not incorporate the principle of separation of church and state into our government so that a bunch of multi-culturists could come along 200 years later and try to re-write history.
Oops! I forgot. They already are.
In case you haven't noticed, it is no longer considered politically correct to refer to dates in ancient history in terms of A.D. (anno domini, Latin for "year of our Lord") or B.C. (before Christ). The "Year of our Lord" is now c.e. (for common era), and "before Christ" is now b.c.e. (before the common era). The change became evident in the mid '90s - but no one polled the Christians. And if whatever group instituted the change ever announced themselves publicly, I somehow missed the announcement.
But back to the Christmas lights ...
If the problem truly is a lack of money, then so be it. If perhaps the situation is that you just don't feel right celebrating anything publicly because so many other people are having a hard time, I have two words:
Lighten up.
